How to Install CM 01/02 on Linux using Wine (2026 Guide)

If you are a Linux user and a hardcore CM 01/02 fan, you don’t need a Windows partition to play your favorite game.

Running CM 01/02 on Linux is easier than ever in 2026. First, make sure you have the CM 01/02 ISO downloaded.

Step 1: Install Wine

Wine is the compatibility layer that allows Windows apps to run on Linux. Use your terminal to install it:

# For Ubuntu/Debian
sudo apt install wine

For Arch Linux
sudo pacman -S wine

Step 2: Mount and Install

Right-click the cm0102.iso file and select “Mount”. Open the virtual drive, right-click setup.exe, and choose “Open with Wine Windows Program Loader”.

Follow the installation wizard as usual.

Note: Always keep the ISO mounted while playing, as the game requires the “CD” to be present in the drive.
